AHJ SUBMISSION HANDLING

We deal with the AHJ, so your team can stay on the roof

PremiumCAD identifies the correct Authority Having Jurisdiction for every site, submits the permit application through their portal or process, and tracks it end to end — including corrections — until it's approved.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

Permit design gets a project ready. Submission handling gets it approved.

A complete plan set still has to go through the right door, in the right format, with the right fee attached. That part of the job is ours.

01

Jurisdiction identification

We confirm the exact AHJ for the site — city, county, or fire district — and the software or process they submit through.

02

Application preparation

Every jurisdiction's own form, completed with project, contractor, and equipment details in the format they expect.

03

Submission

Filed through SolarAPP+, an online portal, or paper/mail-in submission — whichever the AHJ requires.

04

Fee coordination

We calculate and coordinate flat, valuation-based, and plan-check fees so nothing holds up intake.

05

Status tracking

We monitor the application in the AHJ's system and flag movement, so you're not the one checking a portal daily.

06

Corrections & resubmittal

If the reviewer comes back with comments, we revise and resubmit on your behalf until the permit is issued.

NO TWO AHJs ARE ALIKE

Every jurisdiction reviews differently. We already know how yours does.

Requirements, formats, and turnaround swing widely by city and county. We match the submission to the process rather than forcing one workflow everywhere.

AVOIDING DELAYS

Most delays come from the same handful of issues

We check for these before a submission ever reaches the AHJ's desk, not after it comes back with corrections.

Cross_edited.png

Missing PE calculations

The single most common reason a submission is flagged: no structural stamp where the jurisdiction requires one.

Cross_edited.png

Wrong AHJ selected

Overlapping city, county, and fire-district boundaries send applications to the wrong desk entirely.

Cross_edited.png

Incomplete application form

Every jurisdiction's form is different — a field left blank on one AHJ's form is a rejection on another's.

Cross_edited.png

Equipment mismatch

Datasheets that don't match the equipment named in the plan set trigger a correction request on their own.

Cross_edited.png

Missing signage or labeling

Placards & label placement are checked against the specific jurisdiction's amendments, not a generic template.

Cross_edited.png

Unpaid or miscalculated fees

Flat, valuation-based, or plan-check fees calculated wrong stall an application before review even starts.

WORKFLOW

From site address to permit in hand

1

Confirm the AHJ

We map the address against jurisdiction and fire-district boundaries to identify the correct authority and submission method before anything is filed.

2

Assemble the application package

Plan set, structural/electrical calculations, PE stamp if required, equipment datasheets, and the AHJ's own application form, completed to their format.

3

Submit & pay fees

Filed through SolarAPP+, the AHJ's online portal, or paper/mail-in, with the correct fee type calculated and paid.

4

Track through review

We monitor the application's status and follow up with the reviewing office directly, so you get progress updates instead of silence.

5

Manage corrections

If the reviewer requests changes, we revise the plan set or application and resubmit on your behalf, tracking it through to close-out.

6

Deliver the approved permit

Permit delivered to your inbox, ready for install and inspection scheduling — with as-built support available afterward for PTO.
